Mei Jun is a Chinese-American indie artist from Chicago that blends poignant songwriting with widescreen and meticulous production. Growing up playing piano, he eventually picked up drums, guitar, songwriting, and production to materialize the ideas he heard in his head. Culling from his artistic heroes, he delicately and intentionally re-contextualizes emotional spaces from the past through a modern lens.

He released his first EP SUPERNOVA in 2021, and supported artists like Gus Dapperton and Mac Ayres on tour. After becoming disillusioned with the encroachment of technology into the industry, Mei Jun then committed to more traditional means of recorded music. Thus, his second EP, A Darker Indigo, was birthed in 2023, which explored themes of loss and alienation in the pursuit of happiness and fulfillment.

Mei confidently stamped his footprint onto the scene in 2025 with his single, “We dare to remember” which referenced a long overlooked era of 2000s indie/alternative earnestness. The following 11 track album is slated to release in 2026.
