Mei Jun is a Chinese-American artist from Chicago who blends poignant songwriting with widescreen and meticulous production. Growing up playing piano, he would eventually pick up drums, guitar, songwriting, and production in order to materialize the ideas he was conceptualizing in his head. Culling from his artistic heroes, he delicately and intentionally re-contextualizes emotional spaces from the past, sifting them through a modern lens.

He released his debut EP SUPERNOVA in 2021, and has supported artists like Gus Dapperton and Mac Ayres on tour. After becoming disillusioned with the encroachment of technology into the music space, Mei Jun has committed himself to more traditional and analogue means of recorded music. His sophomore EP, A Darker Indigo, came forth as a byproduct of this new approach in 2023, exploring themes of loss and alienation in the pursuit of happiness and fulfillment.

His 2025 single, “We dare to remember” marked a new artistic foundation for Mei Jun, referencing a long overlooked era of 2000s indie/alternative earnestness. His sophomore album, Something Blue* is slated for release on September 18, 2026.
