Kim Tee & koby

Hayley Briasco and Koby Berman first met in 2013 in New Orleans where Koby was attending college and Hayley was visiting a former bandmate. The two quickly bonded over their love of forward thinking genre‑melding artists like Radiohead, Disclosure, Wet, and James Blake. They kept up with each other from across the country ‑‑ Hayley was living in Minneapolis playing guitar and drums in indie/punk bands and composing music for advertising while Koby was pursuing a master’s degree in classical composition.   

They reconnected in 2017 after hearing each other’s solo releases on Soundcloud and started collaborating remotely, developing a process that allowed each of their unique musical  perspectives and strengths to shine. They continued to work together as their individual music careers advanced ‑‑ Hayley began music directing/playing guitar for Clairo and Dominic Fike on tour and Koby was spending his time in the studio contributing to records by Lorde, Pale Waves, and Noah Cyrus to name a few. 

While the two had tossed around the idea of making a more substantial project together for years, it took until they became roommates in Los Angeles to make it a reality. This new era of Kim Tee x koby is the culmination of their shared musical journeys, tastes, and communities. Synthesizing indie, electronic, and pop in their own unique way, their music intends to capture the feeling of what made them fall in love with music in the first place.
